2021 VSGA Junior Stroke Play Qualifying
ELIGIBILITY
Open to VSGA members who have not reached their 20th birthday by July 27, 2021 and did not graduate high school prior to 2021. Participants must hold an active GHIN number issued by a licensed VSGA Member Club in good standing and meet the USGA Rules of Amateur Status. ENTRY FEE/DEADLINE
Qualifying
Players competing in a qualifier (may only enter one) are required to submit an entry form with the entry fee of $65 by Monday, June 28, 2021. The entry fee includes all course fees for the qualifier. In addition, the VSGA will negotiate a discounted practice round fee with all host clubs.
Successful Qualifiers
Those who successfully qualify are required to pay the entry balance of $100 by Monday, July 19 which includes all course fees and lunch for all rounds of competition. In addition, the VSGA will negotiate a discounted practice round fee with the host club.
Exempt Players
Exempt players are required to submit an entry form with the entry fee of $165 by Monday, June 28, 2021. Entry fee includes all course fees and lunch for all rounds. In addition, the VSGA will negotiate a discounted practice round fee with the host club.
FORMAT
Qualifying
All non-exempt players must qualify to play in the championship. A player may only compete in one qualifier. There will be five qualifiers and each qualifier will be 18-holes of stroke play. Sites will be filled on a first come, first served basis. The number of qualifying spots available at each qualifier will be determined based on participation and will be announced on-site.
Championship Proper – 84 players (includes all qualifiers and exempt players)
54-hole stroke play competition (18 holes per day). The field will be cut to the top 45 players and ties following round two.
PRIZES/EXEMPTIONS
Trophies will be given to the Champion and three low scorers in the 14-15 and 16-18 age groups. The Overall Champion also receives an exemption into the 2022 VSGA Amateur Championship and State Open of Virginia.
CADDIE INFORMATION
Players may have a caddie, but he/she must meet the same age requirements for the tournament as the player.
